I (Suzanne) have lived in British Columbia (BC) my whole life but have been diagnosed celiac since 2017. I’m still exploring all the gluten free bakeries I can find, but in the meantime, here are the 100% gluten free bakeries in BC I’ve been to and my recommendations.

Gluten Free Bakeries in BC
Lemonade (Vancouver)
On Cambie Street, near city hall in Vancouver. The cupcakes and cakes are delicious! Especially the chocolate peanut butter. And croissants. Don’t forget the croissants. They always have tons to choose from, so you’re bound to find something you’ll like.
Gluten Free Epicurean (Vancouver)
On 15th Ave near Fraser and Kingsway in Vancouver. Their Cookies, donuts, and squares/brownies are to die for! They have different donuts each day. Pre-order if you want to guarantee a specific item.
Big Fat Lion Bakeshop (Kelowna)
A bit out of the way in an industrial area of Kelowna, this spot is so worth it. The oat fudge bars are to die for. Go early in the day for the best selection.
Jade & Joel’s Baking Co (Kelowna)
A vegan and gluten free bakery, there’s something here for everyone! They’ve recently redone their service model to a more sit-down, café style place, however you can still order breads and cakes and such ahead of time. You can also grab and go – try the donuts!
Wild Poppy Market (Ladysmith)
On Vancouver Island, no matter where you’re visiting, you must make the trek to Wild Poppy Market! They have a glutinous counterpart across the street, but this spot is completely gluten free. You can order things like sandwiches to eat in that are made to order but also order plenty of baked goods to go. They also have tons of grocery-type items you can bring home with you (mixes, frozen meals, etc).
Cutting Board Bistro & Bakery (Kamloops)
The breakfast here is superb, and you can grab things like muffins, cheesecake, and squares to go. If you’re looking for something like bread or buns, make sure you pre-order on the website for pickup!
Delish Gluten Free Bakery (Port Coquitlam)
On Coast Meridian in an industrial area of Poco, closest to where we were living in New West so where I frequented most out of this list. Cinnamon buns are heaven! They also sell frozen goods like pierogies. They’ve renovated the bakery to have a café style front, so you can eat in and get coffee and things like sandwiches too.
Marie’s Guilt Free Bakery (Langley)
The best place to find Marie is at a local farmer’s market, but she does have a storefront in Langley. Lots of frozen goodies to take and bake or to stock up. The shortbread is delicious. Meant to purchase and go, there’s nowhere to sit and eat your haul.
Origin Gluten Free Bakery (Victoria)
This is a staple visit when we’re in Victoria. They mostly do breads and cakes, but sometimes you can find other treats in the display case. Careful not to go too late in the day, as they sell out quickly!
The Polly Fox (Abbotsford)
This is more of a coffee shop type spot with seating and such, but they sell have a bakery in the back, so their baked goods are all made in-house. They have a menu you can order from to eat in, with things like sandwiches and waffles. They have a case with frozen goods to take-and-bake, as well as things like bread crumbs, flours, and baking mixes.
Mountain Top Wheat & Gluten Free Bakery (North Vancouver)
On Lonsdale in North Van, this is a small sort of hole in the wall place that can be hard to find. We’ve only been here a couple times but it seems their bread and buns, and things like sausage rolls or chicken pot pies, are their specialty. Watch out for the bright yellow sign, and head down to the end of the quiet hallway!
Innocent Ice Cream (Vancouver)
Okay, not a bakery, but dessert – gluten free ice cream sandwiches! I recommend getting the flight (three mini sandwiches of different flavours). They also have dairy free options.
